Animals Africa Sanctuary is Rwanda’s only dedicated sanctuary providing lifelong care for vulnerable, abandoned, abused, neglected, and rescued animals. As a registered charity, we believe that every animal deserves safety, dignity, and the opportunity to live free from suffering.
Beyond rescue and rehabilitation, our mission is to educate communities about animal welfare, responsible ownership, and compassionate coexistence between people and animals. We welcome schools, universities, and visitors to learn about conservation, animal welfare, and sustainable farming through hands-on experiences at the sanctuary.
To ensure the long-term sustainability of our work, we grow much of our own animal feed and prepare fresh meals daily for our dogs and cats. Looking to the future, we are developing sustainable social enterprises, including producing yogurt and cheese from our dairy herd and creating a farm-to-table restaurant where visitors can experience fresh, locally produced food while directly supporting the sanctuary.
We are also committed to inclusion. Animals Africa Sanctuary proudly creates employment opportunities for people with disabilities and aims to become a training center where people with disabilities can develop skills in animal care. We also partner with veterinary schools to provide practical learning opportunities for veterinary students and animal health technicians.
Every rescue tells a story. Every donation changes a life.
